IFST reveals conference theme
Keeping control of allergens is the theme of this year’s Institute of Food Science & Technology (IFST) annual spring conference and AGM.
Taking place on 7 and 8 April at Campden BRI, and organised by the IFST’s Midland branch, the event is open to all food professionals with an interest in this area, and will be attended by IFST fellows, members and associates.
Chairperson of the Midland branch Ruth Dolby says she is keen to attract a full house of delegates from across the food production industry.
“Anyone who produces food for public consumption will have to keep control of allergens in food production, be it factory or restaurant, café or ingredient supply,” she says. “Generally speaking, the industry has a good track record on the issue of allergens but one of the messages that has come through loud and clear to the IFST is that members need a greater depth of understanding of this area of growing consumer concern.
More details of the conference can be found at http://www.ifst.org/upcoming_events, and tickets can be obtained at http://www.campden.co.uk/training/ifst.htm.
A full list of speakers will be announced shortly.
